Fire Extinguishing Today

TYPHOON FIRE-EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

The philosophy of the fire extinguishing means ever since they have been devised to date remains the same, and is based on the use of large water volumes and pressure for a wide range to be reached, but these means prove to be ineffective because they do not bring the desired fire extinguishing results, despite the large water quantities consumed and present the following disadvantages:

For the reasons above, firefighting is currently considered being inefficient and dangerous worldwide.

The "Tyfonas-Typhoon"

TYPHOON FIRE-EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

John Krekoukis is the creator of “TYFONAS-TYPHOON”, the new innovative firefighting system that comes to change the firefighting data, by offering a lot to the environment, to humans and also to the citizens’ properties.

Characteristics of "Tyfonas-Typhoon"

TYPHOON FIRE-EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM

"TYFONAS-TYPHOON" system consists of:

A high performance centrifugal fan, having an air speed outlet through its nozzle of about 500 km/h, and it is divided into several categories being classified according to the following characteristics:

(a) The air speed outlet through the nozzle, and (b) The nozzle diameter.

The “TYFONAS-TYPHOON” firefighting system is available in various models and applications depending on the different fire extinguishing needs.

The air speed in all the “TYFONAS-TYPHOON” models being provided is virtually the same, their only characteristic being differentiated and playing a decisive role as regards the spray jet range and the amount of water being sprayed is the nozzle diameter. That is, by maintaining almost the same speed and by also increasing the nozzle diameter, and hence the fan power, the maximum range is achieved, where for example in a centrifugal fan model already being used that is fixed on an extendable arm and having a nozzle diameter of 250 mm, the air outlet speed through the nozzle is 500 Km/h.

The spray jet range of this model reaches the 55 m, and the throw diameter reaches the 5 m under conditions of calmness, whereas by fixing of a conical funnel to the nozzle with a reciprocal movement, its diameter as well as its spray jet range are capable of being increased and/or decreased, something that in many cases makes it very effective.

The water being sprayed in the form of spray jet, from this particular model reaches the 1500 lt per minute, while it is worth noting that the water supply to the nozzle is of low pressure.

The power consumed for these results to be achieved by this particular system, is 220 hp and bears the code name 250 X 500.

The different “TYFONAS-TYPHOON” firefighting system models are increased or decreased by 50 mm, by relation to the nozzle diameter.

Therefore, by reaching the target model of John Krekoukis, which is the 500 X 500 one, then we can talk about a spray jet range exceeding the 70 m, and a water jet spray capacity exceeding the 4.000 lt/min, whereas the power consumption according to the calculations carried out will be 500-550 hp.

A great innovation of the "TYFONAS-TYPHOON" firefighting system is as follows:

The amount of water being ejected is adjustable, that is it can be 100 or 200 lt per minute, without this affecting the spray jet range, something that can not be achieved by the today’s fire extinguishing means.

In a forest fire e.g, by taking into account that the water is valuable and depending on the needs and fire size, the minimum quantity of water can be used and consumed for the maximum results to be achieved.

The “TYFONAS-TYPHOON” system, due to the high air speed being produced, has the ability to cut off the flame from the burning material, allowing the spray jet to interfere on the fire core, otherwise a very large amount of droplets would evaporate during their course towards the fire due to the high heat.

For example, in order for a fire to occur, three factors are required to exist: a) Burnable material, b) Heat, and c) Oxygen.

When one of these three factors is eliminated, then there will be no fire. The “TYFONAS-TYPHOON” is the first firefighting system applicable worldwide operating with at least the two parameters constituting a fire at the same time, that is to say, it carries out the reduction of heat on the one hand, and the removal of the flame from the burning material on the other hand, something that cannot be achieved by the existing extinguishing means, the philosophy of which is based on water, for these intervene to only reduce the heat.
